Ingredients
- 4-5 roma tomatoes, cut into slices
- 6 basil leaves, chopped
- 1 ½ tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar or glaze
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 6 slices of French baguette, sourdough, or ciabatta
- 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, for brushing
- 3 peeled garlic cloves, cut in halves

3 tbsp Black Sesame Crunchy Butter, plus more for drizzling
- 6-8 oz fresh mozzarella, cut into slices
- Basil leaves for garnish
- Flaky sea salt

Directions
For the marinated tomatoes
In a shallow dish, combine olive oil, balsamic, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Toss in the basil and tomatoes. Let sit for about 30 minutes to let flavors develop.
For the bread
Lightly brush olive oil on each slice of bread.
- Toast in toaster oven, or regular oven at 450°F for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
- For each slice of bread, rub one half of a garlic clove, cut side down.
Assembly
Smear ½ tbsp of Black Sesame Crunchy Butter on each slice of bread.
- Add a slice of mozzarella, then a slice of marinated tomato on top.
- Drizzle extra Black Sesame Crunchy Butter.
Garnish with basil leaves and flaky sea salt. Enjoy!
Recipe Note
We recommend storing the toppings separately in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days. Toast the bread and assemble right before serving.
