1 cup choice of milk (240g)
1 ½ cup mochiko flour (240g)
1 tsp baking powder

Black Sesame Mochi Waffles
Chocolate Sauce
Whipped Cream
Directions
For black sesame mochi waffles
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
Stir in Black Sesame Crunchy Butter until combined.
While whisking, slowly pour in the milk.
Mix in the mochiko flour, baking powder, and salt, until there are no dry spots of flour remaining.
Lightly grease your preheated waffle maker.
Add in waffle batter. Depending on your waffle maker, the amount of batter can range from a few tablespoons to ¾ cup. For mine, I used 2-3 tablespoons of batter.
Cook waffles for about 5 minutes until outsides are lightly brown and crisp. Transfer to a wire rack or plate.
For chocolate sauce
Combine chocolate chips and heavy cream into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted.
If you want a thinner sauce, add in more heavy cream. Alternatively, if you want it thicker, melt in an extra 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips at a time.
For whipped cream
In a medium mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar using a whisk, handheld mixer, or stand mixer until firm peaks.
Assembly
Place waffles on a plate and add a dollop of whipped cream.
Drizzle Black Sesame Crunchy Butter and chocolate on top of the waffles. Enjoy!
Recipe Note
To make this vegan:
- For the waffles, sub in a chia/flax seed for the egg, alternative milk, and dairy-free chocolate chips.
- For the whipped cream, sub in whipped coconut cream.
